Mäurer & Wirtz has its headquarters in Stolberg, a town near Aachen, Germany, that is steeped in tradition and referred to locally as "Kupferstadt" or Copper Town. We have compiled some information about our location on the Corporate Culture page. This is our company's only location in Germany. Here, our administrative staff work right next door to our production staff. We also have an external sales team in Germany that takes care of our customers on site. Plus, there's an external sales team based in the Netherlands that looks after sales in the Benelux countries.

Our company canteen offers varied and delicious meals throughout the day. We pay a subsidy for our employees, so you can eat at a discounted price. What's more, there is fresh fruit available for free at our meeting point whenever you need a snack. And, of course, there is also water.

We care deeply about the health of our employees. Our employees are the most important part of our company, which is why we are committed to keeping them healthy and have established occupational health management. In addition, you can join our company sports groups and there are a number of services available e.g. flu vaccinations or eye tests. Our on-site health centre will take care of your health concerns and offers a wide range of services.

Yes. Our vacancies on our job portal will not be removed until they are filled.

This depends on the training position you are applying for. Just take a look at the individual job description to find out.

When making our decision, in addition to academic performance, we also consider your previous experience and your interests, e.g. (part-time) jobs, hobbies, social activities and our overall impression. As such, your average grades are not the only crucial aspect for our decision.

The duration of the training period depends on the apprenticeship profession. You will find more information in the individual job descriptions. With appropriate prior education and good performance in both the company and the vocational school, the trainee course may be completed in a shorter time.

We plan our staffing needs annually, so the number of trainee positions varies.

In principle, we train our trainees with the aim of them using and furthering the expertise they have gained in the trainee position in our company. As such, we try to take you on long-term after your training and we have a fixed hiring scheme for at least one year for all trainees.

Please apply online via the corresponding job advertisement. Unfortunately, we do not accept applications by post or email. All vacant trainee positions can be found in our trainee position section.

We need a cover letter showing your motivation for the training, a CV and your two most-recent references. If you also have further certificates from internships, language examinations, etc., you should add these too.

After careful examination of your documents, we will contact you promptly by email. If we feel you could be a good fit for us, we invite you to a hiring test, interview and/or assessment centre. If you impress us during the hiring process, you will receive a commitment from us in advance by telephone. The recruitment process may vary depending on the position.

In your interview, we would like to get to know you and better assess your expertise and skills. Just be yourself – that's the best way to find out if you're right for us and we're right for you. Think about why you are interested in the trainee position. We look forward to meeting you in person and having an authentic and open conversation.

You can apply at any time by looking at the available trainee positions. In general, you should apply for a trainee position about a year in advance if you want to start on the 1st August of the following year.

You are welcome to apply for multiple apprenticeships and programmes if your interests and qualifications match. However, please apply for each position individually via our job portal.

Your training allowance is subject to the applicable wage agreement. This may differ depending on your location.

At the beginning of your training, you will participate in an induction week. During this week you will learn important basics, get to know your way around the company premises and get to know the other trainees. There is also a two-day trip during this week to get to know each other better. For better support, at the beginning of your training period, you will be paired with a second-year mentor who will also take part in the trip. You will also take part in language courses and other training opportunities. At the end of your training, an exam preparation course ensures you are fully prepared for your final examination.
